CANE CORSO [ Return to Matrix ]

Description

This breed is also refered to as the Italian Mastiff; although not to be confused with its southern cousin, The Neapolitan Mastiff. This is an ancient breed which can be traced in its lineage to the roman mastiffs of old times. This breed was close to extinction after the second world war. Thanks to efforts of some enthusiatic breeders, this is now one the most upcoming breeds. The reason why this breed is so popular is that it is an affectionate dog, eager to please his master, fearless if a danger is sensed and a real good looker. This breed does need quiet a bit of socialisation both with other dogs and strangers to make him well adjusted. And dominant and consistent training will reduce the dominant,alpha-dog streak in this huge animal.
