Australian Shepherd [ Return to Matrix ]

Description The Australian Shepherd is a medium sized dog of strong herding and guarding instincts. They tend to be reserved with strangers, and early socialization is important for Aussies kept as pets. They are not hyper, but can be "busy" dogs, and need to be given a job, or will make one up that you may not like! Aussies are good at agility, canine freestyle, obedience, Rally-O etc. They are a very versatile and intelligent breed, but probably not for the novice owner.
